Skippy,
Your post seems to start with a paragraph that is numbered 2. I'd be curious to see the whole document if privacy concerns allow it. Also, can you reveal the source? UAL pilot? Who? It's a great read.

Heyas,
There is case history where if it is found that the union (or employer) is interfering with free speech, there are horrific penalties and damages, not only to the union or corporation, but the individuals responsible are also held personally liable.
Unions cannot delete so much as a forum message without being EXTREMELY careful of this. Your message pretty much has to explicitly violate the terms of service (no calling names, personal threats, etc). As mentioned above, if they do, the responsibility falls on the union, communication chairman, right down to the forum administrator who actually deleted the message, and they can all be held collectively and individually liable.
If you can prove that they have interfered with your freedom of speech, you make bank.
Look up the Labor Management Reporting and Disclosure Act (LMRDA)

Suuuuuure. No problem. Tell wallach we all believe you
What is the name of the virus your computer is infected with. Perhaps we could actually see if what you wrote is TRUE or perhaps you are towing the Wallach company line in trying to say it is "virus". Please forgive me and the rest of the pilots that have more than a single cell working in our heads if we are skeptical of what is published by ALPA. UA ALPA was once a bastion of great leaders and people interested in making the job better and the future secure. Instead it is run by a group of mongers that are out for themselves, are self absorbed egomaniacs that couldn't negotiate with a lemonade stand operator without giving up something crucial. Our guys would get a cup of ice and promise of lemonade at a later date. Except they would give themselves some nice fat reward for finding the stand in the first place.
This virus thing is sham. Wallach is sham and the entire ALPA "is here to help you" mantra is a sham. Some very bad things are on the horizon for us without some vector changes from both ALPA and the company. Failure to adjust our leadership is akin to the company failing the adjust their leadership. With today's announcement that Tauge is taking the lead it appears Tilton is giving reign to a another leader. Now the question becomes, when does ALPA get rid of Wallach? He has proven to be a force of incompetence and has managed ALPA as poorly as Tilton has managed the company.
It there is a request for the UA pilots to wake up, it needs to include a recall of Wallach and putting in place an MEC Chairman that is set to see the pilot group prosper and not stoke just his ego as Wallach has done.
