ZED info

Anyone know of anything published that lists ZED policies for each airline? FLYZED.com has a "travel rules" link for each airline but no info in each link.

Specifically, it seems airlines have different policies as to whether or not they will take a ticket from a different ZED carrier than the one listed on the ticket, or for a different city pair.

My airline pass bureau said my ticket should be good on any other ZM (zed medium - most of them) carrier as long as it for the same zone or less.

Well, not so easy. The ticket was on Delta but I wanted to change city pairs for a less mileage, lower zone. My ticket was for zone 3, and I wanted to travel zone 2. Delta agent would not take the ticket (for my wife - I was js) - he said zed ticket must for for exact city pair - no changes.

So I went to American - took awhile for agent to press the right buttons, but eventually worked and everything went fine.

Now for the return trip, UAL had a better flight option, so tried them. They would not take the ticket. Had to be same city pair they said.

Waited for later American flight and after much angst with cust. service supervisor, final got the right computer screen up for ZED rules and they took ticket for the return.

I think the theory is great - interchangeable non-rev tickets for equal or less mileage zones between particpating zed carriers. In practice, not so easy. Sure would be nice to know who has what rules. Thanks.
