Way to go Delta (Taxiway Landing)

There is very much off topic, but relevant nonetheless due in part to threads such as this.
How many of you have visited other non-aviation message boards? The ones I have seen are roughly 90% seriousness, 5% sarcasm, and 5% immaturity. Unfortunately, most aviation message boards (and APC is getting closer, no offense intended) are about 95% immature and 5% serious. It has literally gotten to the point where the only reason to visit these boards is for nothing more than a laugh.
Think about it. How many CPA message boards do you see containing comments such as "my adding machine is bigger than your adding machine", or "back in the day we had Lotus 1-2-3. These young punks nowadays have Excel." Or how many doctor websites do you see with comments such as "well, I'm a better doctor with less experience because I had advanced anatomical systems taught to me at Harvard".
Look at the majority of these threads and posts. I don't know who outside of aviation visits these message boards, but it is almost embarrassing to wonder what most would think.

You talk about CPAs and Doctors....How many CPAs and Doctors start all over when they change employers? How many CPAs and Doctors divide their professions into "regional" and "mainline"? Do they use "career expectations" as a method of measuring "worth"?
These issues create a lot of "friction" among "brothers". If you are going to claim that regionals are less safe, then you better not land a 767 on a taxiway......
This is one screwed up "profession".....No doubt about it....

A check airman was on the flight deck along with the captain
and first officer. During cruise flight, the check airman
became ill and was relocated to the cabin for the remainder
of the flight. A medical emergency was declared and the
company was notified by the crew. A determination was made
to land at the scheduled destination of ATL.

jsjohnson2, your condescending tone in the thread title will not get you much out of life other than resentment.
I've chosen not to respond to this thread so far because of the immaturity level of some posters. But the fact that this thread has gone on for 19 pages is a reminder how easy it is to get involved.
To all the "experienced mainline pilots should never make a mistake" crowd:
Do you really feel that insecure in your personal career as a pilot, that you have a need to use another crews' misfortune as a gain or a victory in a battle that you seem to be fighting? At what point do you draw the line? When someone gets hurt?
When it's us against us, be patient, keep the emotions out of it and stick to the facts.
That being said, I agree with the other posters that are not responding further.

Where was this outrage when everyone was jumping on the regionals after the Colgan crash? It has been open season on "regional" safety.....Now this happens and it is only natural that those that have been attacked will fire back....We are used to it....You guys need thicker skin.....

I hope you dont take this the wrong way, but it is starting to appear that you are getting a thrill always posting little tidbits, just to drum up attention. Do you really have some insider knowledge or are you kinda getting a thrill leading the masses to a trail of breadcrumbs, when all you really know is rumor and conjecture that you have heard on the line....I really am curious..????

If one of the crews ended up unlucky, what would be your stance?
Said it before, say it again. A highly experienced, highly trained crew can bend metal just as good as one that isn't. It's been proven over, and over, and over.
