I made a blanket statement...I never said rj pilots are dangerous. Generally speaking, put two sets of qualifications side by side and ask anyone who they'd want in the cockpit. I don't think some bitter furloughed rj pilot (BSOut...)should be the one criticizing anyone.

This is not good, for all pilots as it makes the profession look bad. I hope it never happens to me or anyone else in this profession. Thank God that noone was hurt.
With that being said, I find it disgusting how the regional guys can come into this thread, flamebaiting the legacy pilots ... just for the sake of getting back at us over perceived ill treatment of previous regional accidents which CLEARLY were the fault of the crews flying the aircraft. It wasn't like we, or anyone else, was wrongly putting blame on the crews. Am I defending this crew? No, I am not.
I'm being dead serious when I say this: if I were a passenger and was reading this thread, there would be no way I'd ever get on a passenger jet now -- especially a regional -- seeing how you guys end up behaving.
And you guys wonder why some of us legacy pilots have a lack of respect for some regional folks.
When will people learn .. it isn't us versus you, they versus we, etc.etc. We're all in this together and for those to make jokes about such accidents, your turn is next.
Good luck.

Criticize the crew? Are you kidding me? They landed on a taxiway!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The fact that you think there is any way to justify this is comical. If this were a regional crew, they would have been ridiculed beyond belief and blasted by the media! You're funny.

The only thing that is comical is your rush to judgement.

You know that if it was a regional that did this you guys would be all over it, saying it's gotta be due to experience, this is another example of regionals being unsafe. And everybody would be second guessing the pilots. But instead for the most part we have people saying, delta pilots are the best in the world so therefore they probably weren't in the wrong. I'm sorry, but if you land on a taxiway 999 times outta 1000 someone f'd up. They definitely got some splianin' to do, and I hope this was that 1 in a thousand time. If there was a fully loaded 777 on that taxiway, I'd take the ravine over the taxiway anyday.

I wish some of you Delta guys would get off your high horses.
The thing that really erks the regional guys here is your flat out hypocrisy.
You know you'd rip a new one to a regional crew if they did this. Now since it's one of your own "BEST IN THE WORLD" it's "okay and no one should judge".
That makes me laugh.

They guy had a medical emergency onboard. Maybe the aircraft in front of him was an RJ that rolled to the end of 27R. Instead of making a go around, maybe he thought the taxiway was a better alternative than having some guy die in the back.
