Or as one pilot put it so well:

To say that it isn't as real as what audiences think is an insult to the soldiers who fought in the war or in any war for that matter. If you still think the series isn't as real as what is shown, then we'll just agree to disagree.

In the meantime I'll listen to what calcapt and the rest of the professionals have to say about never crossing a picket line.
Be my guest re calcapt and the other professionals. As to BofB, good entertainment, and probably as accurate as they want to make it. Seems you like history, me too. You ever been in combat? I have.

I understand where you're coming from. Feeling like you've been betrayed is aweful, but who are you to be judge and jury for every person who has made that decision? This anger involved in this issue seems a little out of proportion
Duvie,

Look at it this way, in essence a scab is reaching into your backpocket and stealing your wallet. That's how it is and if you refuse to acknowledge or recognize that fact, you're not welcome at my airline.

You said it best in your first post when you said you were young and a bit naive. Take it from people who've been around the block, being a scab is the worst possible thing you can do in the field of aviation. Either acknowledge that fact or choose another career.

Good Luck.

A SCAB has a character defect that is akin to rapist or murderer. In fact there have been several airline SCABS convicted of both crimes (and others).

My point is that these scum should not be trusted by anyone for anything.

I have nothing but contempt for a SCAB, and will treat them accordingly.

That is the most incredible thing I've read on this forum.

757driver, your analogy about the wallet stealing makes sense. I'm glad I've gotten all this input and I think I will suspend my opinions about this until I actually work for and pay dues to a union.

As a side note, I'm often impressed at how well some people write here. Most pilots I run across aren't very literarily inclinced. Like him or not paladin's original post was nicely written.

I understand Charlie Manson's quite the linguist, what's your point?

I understand that ( please correct me if Im wrong) the reason that scabs are so despised is the betrayal that is felt by the guys who hold the strike line when the scabs sneak off to work after agreeing to stand together with the strikers. It essentially destroys the unity or" brotherhood" and then management laughs in your face.
Is it the betrayal that hurts most?( or am I missing the point? )

Can I expect to deal with scabs in the CFI environment? It would make it much more entertaining.
