Question for AA guys?

Does AA have a B pay scale? Are the pay rates posted on APC correct? I was informed that a 6yr FO barely makes 60K a year? Is that true?

You do know that there are NO 6 year FO'a at AA, right? Besides, being hypothetical if there were, use the handy little calculator at the bottom of the APC pay rates, plug in the lowest FO rate at 6 year longevity multiplied by the lowest monthly guarantee rate. What do you come up with?

But yeah, just going off that hypothetical, it's a pretty sad pay rate for a legacy pilot, assuming it was factual. I'm not slamming AA, what I'm getting at is that pilots are worth more. And NO, we don't have to get into the dead horse beating of how we got where we are/market forces discussion/post 9/11/BK/concession talk. Been there/done that, just sayin'

6 year pay rate as FO on the MD-80 is $97/hr.

No more B scale, it went away in 2003 I believe.

6 year AA pilots get zero from AA because they are all on furlough.

1999 was the last year if not mistaken.

And to the other poster, yes 6 year pay times a line guarantee of 64 hours is roughly $6200. However if that individual flew just 64 hours he will most likely have 18-20 days OFF a month. It is what is...

Reserve guarantee is roughly $7000 a month for 73 hours, however if the 80 guys are flying hard like they are at many bases! then there pay is closer to $8000, through in another $350-$400 for PD.

Yo Flyer,

I was hired in Feb 2000, and from April 2001 (when I went to 2nd year pay), I was on B scale thru Aug 2001, at which point I achieved "parity" and went to regular A scale 2nd year pay. So it was still around even in '01. I think the 2003 POS contract got rid of it completely.

73,

You may be right, I was thinking there was only 1 year of B scale pay, however that would have obviously to someone hired after me. I do think it ended shortly after that. I remember the POS 2003 getting rid of things like the fine levied upon APA, however I do not remember B scale being eliminated..

ANyways, you need to to get back on the Fleet Forum, and change AA:)

Cheers Bro, and Stay Warm
