I can't support any crossing of a picket line, but I certainly think that the labor groups at AA set themselves up for this kind of failure in unity. USAPA had better take notice of how poor treatment is repaid...

Anyone else notice the incongruity of a group called Coalition for Union Principles advocating Scabbing?

It does seem kinda crazy that they are protesting the violation of their seniority rights by advocating the ultimate mortal sin possible by any union member.

....and they're victims of that similar violation of seniority. Had APFA chosen to integrate--whether by relative seniority, ratio, whatever---they wouldn't be looking at this issue today.

APFA chose the route unilaterally. They can deal with it.

I wonder how much they will enjoy their jobs when the strike is over and they have to work with the strikers until they get furloughed again.

They probably don't care. They are probably just doing it for revenge...none of them have been sitting home collecting unemployment for the last 8-9 years.

Don't get too wrapped around the axle about a picket line in this case...I'd cross one too in order to to get MY job back. If somebody steals your job, they can't really expect you to honor their picket line

The damage to AA should this happen would effectively kill this carrier for the forseeable future as a service providing competitor. Even if they were to replace all the F/A's permanently, it would destroy any chance of a cohesive culture at the carrier and AMR executives would spend the rest of their days wishing they could turn the clock back and choose differently.

Pilots flying with a predominantly [strike-breaker] cadre of F/A's ?

I mean really.............they need to picture this.

My guess is this is North Korea-esque bluster and they couldn't be that stupid, could they ?

Who, the flight attendants or AMR management?

Both are equally foolish as to think a strike would do anything more than immediately deposit the company in chapter 11.

Realistically though, no one is getting to the 'cooling off' period. Not with unemployment at 9.9%.
