Stop worrying about pay, be happy to get a call for a job. Cant have it all.

Hi!

I am assuming the anti-Allegiant sentiments are because it is non-union?

That doesn't make any sense to me.

A job/organization can be great or crap, regardless of if they are unionized or not.

I would not consider going to a crappy co. that didn't have a union.

Is Allegiant a crappy company???

Exactly the attitude driving pilot wages/work rules down the drain.

I like your spin, but the real reason is the excessive supply of pilots and limited jobs. Think back to day one of economics...supply and demand.

You apparently have Allegiant Envy. We have had several pay raises over the years and yes, we are all glad to be working. I have been watching this site for years and just signed up.
It's funny to see the venom towards a company that is moving forward. I have to add my voice to the mix, WAY to many haters out there.

Just too many whiners expecting more than what their worth. I remember years ago Americans would dig ditches and jobs like that, pretty soon the attitude became they were too good. Now we are too good for the pay in an industry that loses millions. Lets get over ourselves and our egos and just go work.

i try not to post too much, as i usually sit back and watch and keep my mouth shut. but ive read this rhetoric from Herkulesdrvr before. i guess we should all just be happy that management will work us to the bone for fractions of what used to be made. kudos to those of you at allegiant trying to raise the bar. i look forward to seeing that happen!

Herkulesdrvr, why are you comparing us to ditch diggers? additionally, labor is a cost of doing business. if the industry doesnt want to lose millions, charge what it costs to fly. finally, why are we not worth it? why do you think you are not worth more? you have "X" amount of people that you are responsible for, operating a multimillion dollar aircraft, dealing with weather and other elements, and we should just continue to work for subpar wages while management sits back and rakes in millions? but its our fault that the industry loses millions.

allegiant pilots are not whats wrong with this industry, but you sir, are.

Exactly my point. As long as there are pilots willing to work for substandard wages and/or work rules, there is no incentive for employers to pay more.

Or as Frank Lorenzo responded to the question, "When are you going to pay us what we're worth?"

"When you make me," he said.

Of course, in your opinion, that applies to some 12,200 DAL pilots, 6,300 UAL pilots, 5,050 USAir pilots, that took pay and benefit cuts, not to mention reduction in retirement benefits without a guaranty for reimbursement in such pay cuts too:rolleyes:.

I am paid what I am worth much like you are. I always hear people complain in all industries that they are not paid what they are worth, especially pilots. The market bears the price of its workers in all industries, not just aviation. Face it, you are paid what you are worth, simple as that. If you are working for less than what you believe then you are the problem, not me.

Management rakes in millions? If making millions is important then go join management and stop whining about being a pilot, I dont know what to tell you. Tell me what amount of money is enough for you? I have asked this question before and rarely get an answer because most people dont know. So what is it? 100 an hour, 200, 1000? Tell us what it would take for you not to complain or is that not possible?

Maybe go to medical school if money is important? I think Doctors make pretty good wages, good luck.
