I believe most Delta pilots are ready to flush the ALPA toilet... time to get serious about a Delta Pilots Association (DPA), sorry to burst Lee Moak's future political agenda. If any Delta pilot thinks ALPA national cares about you and/or your family... you're insane.

If they don't care about delta, then who would they care for? the regional airlines?

I'm frankly surprised at the views towards this magazine, what are you guys expecting out of a union magazine? Leisure travel tips and advice on crosswind landings? If it wasn't for the mag 99% wouldn't even know what the national is up to.

Keep the Pacific Northwest Green !

I agree with Sparerib....mostly beautiful glossy pictures of folks sitting around a conference table working on their laptops...probably checking e-mail. Of course, what would Captain Prater do without the obligatory photo ops shaking hands with "well wishers and do-gooders" and looking impotent.

Let's help keep the Pacific Northwest beautiful and save a LOT of trees. Get rid of the magazine once and for all. While you're at it, have a go at 535 Herndon Parkway. A lot of very expensive deadwood in there as well !

G'Luck Mates:)

Well that might be all you guys get at gojets from the taxi-driver chapter of the teamsters, but there's actually valuable safety information buried in our magazine. My beef with it is that it could just as easily be disseminated to the masses via email, thus doing away with the propaganda articles.

National does send a weekly (sometimes biweekly) letter, so we do have some general idea of what's going on with them.

make it an e-zine!

How else are we going to find out the latest mustache styles?

Teamsters Airline Division communicates electronically. Too bad you have to drag the GoJets guys into this when Prater is screwing up TransStates so bad.

The magazine USED to have great technical and safety articles. That ended under Prater. They changed the format to pump him up and try to win awards.

One thing is true....TIM IS ALPA!!! TIM IS PRATERS CODE OF ETHICS!!!!

Praters ALPA, and Praters Code of Ethics...not what ALPA used to stand for.

He is a disgrace to the Code of Ethics...the Executive Council is required to remove him...they just haven't got the balls.

Hmmm.

I haven't opened an ALPA magazine in years, even with the pretty color pictures. Come to think of it, I don't think one has made it inside the house. It goes straight from the mailbox to the big garbage can in the garage.

I HAVE read numerous emails from ALPA though. As ALPA is willing to tell us ad nausem, we're "professionals", which at the very least would suggest that most of us have the brainpower to actually scan a condensed document for pertinent information.

Magazine's are a dead medium. The mag had it's place before the internet changed everything. Now it's just an expensive, out-of-date anachronism that gives us (at best) the cutting edge news of 3 months ago.
