Default IBT Pilots and Union Support Spirit

What goes around comes around...IBT Pilots standing with the Spirit pilots as they did for Amerijet...HANG TOUGH!

Dear Local 1224 Crewmembers,

The Spirit airline pilots have less than a week left in their 30-day cooling-off period.

Additionally, the Spirit pilots would appreciate our help to turn up the heat with their informational picketing. We encourage all available crewmembers to help these pilots achieve the contract they deserve.

Informational picketing is scheduled this week in Atlantic City, Fort Lauderdale and Detroit. Briefings at all locations begin at 2:00 p.m., followed by informational picketing from 3:00—5:00 p.m. please wear full uniform.

• Atlantic City - Tuesday, June 8
Meeting point: Crystal Room, Clarion Hotel & Convention Center,
6821 Black Horse Pike, West Atlantic City, NJ
• Fort Lauderdale - Wednesday, June 9
Meeting point: Hyatt Summerfield Suites,
90 SW 18th Avenue, Dania Beach
• Detroit - Thursday, June 10
Meeting point: Detroit Metro Airport Marriott
Flynn Drive, Romulus
• Fort Lauderdale - Friday, June 11 (Eve of Strike)
Meeting point: Sheraton Cruise Port 1825 Griffin Road, Dania

Briefings begin at 6:00pm, Informational picketing 10:00PM – 12:30AM
Cooling off expires at 1:00AM if no agreement is reached Spirit is On Strike.
You may contact the Strike Center at 954-922-0942 or any of the following SPA coordinators below if you plan to attend: Tony Willis at 786-547-9800 or Jeff Melhauser at 970-518-4514.

The pilots of Spirit have authorized their MEC to call a strike should the NMB release the pilots to engage in lawful self-help. In preparation for this action, should it occur, we have attached the resolution by the Spirit pilots with their definition of struck work; please familiarize yourself with the provisions of this document in advance.

I continue to urge each of you to lend your full support to the Spirit crewmembers. Our continuing support will have a positive impact for our profession.

Fraternally,

Captain Joseph Muckle
President, Teamsters Local 1224

Thank you guys!! It's nice to know we have support from other pilot groups. Kind of a weird feeling right now; 5 days I'll know the fate of my future with this company
