I'd be happy to check for you, but I still can't send or receive PMs as I'm new. So if you're comfortable posting what you'd like checked, I'd be more than happy to help you out. Although, it might have to wait until morning as I'm calling it a night.

Thanks man, actually another guy was able to help me out. However, do I need to list with reservations, or can I just show up at the gate to request a jumpseat pass?

Thanks.

Okay, glad you got help. Do us a favor though. If you have any issues with gate agents (especially in ATL) trying to send you to the customer service counter to get listed as a non-rev when you're trying to j/s, please let one of us on the forum know or any AirTran pilot you know, so that we can pass the info along to our j/s coordinator.

We've been having issues with this and we're not going to stand for it. It's been happening mostly in ATL (imagine that), and they've even pulled this with our pilots. So for the record to anyone reading this, when j/sing on AAI, you simply go to the gate to request the j/s. You DO NOT need to be listed with rez, the ticket counter outside of security, or any customer service counter inside of security.

If the agent absolutely insists on it, try to get a hold of the Cptn. or F/O somehow, but again please collect all info (flt #, date, time, agent's name, etc). and make sure an AAI pilot that will take it to our j/s Chairman gets it. This applies to all pilots that are reading this. We want to nip this in the bud as we take a lot of pride in having one of the best reputations with regard to how we treat j/sers.

For the record, all of our 717s have only one cockpit j/s and one f/a j/s. The 737s that we lease from GECAS have two cockpit j/s and one f/a j/s and the ones we own have only one cockpit j/s. If you're from another airline, you can only sit in our cockpit j/s. However, our pilots can sit in the f/a j/s. So if any of you ever show up to find a completely full flight with an AAI j/ser, he/she should offer to sit in the f/a j/s so that you may occupy the one in the cockpit.

Good luck and again, please let us know of any problems any of you might encounter so that we can forward the issue to our j/s committee.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm glad I won't be going through ATL.

My pleasure. Usually it's smooth sailing even through ATL, but we have had some problems. Good luck.

I jumpseated on you guys in April, through ATL. To be honest (and nothing against AirTran), I was fully expecting some kind of Atlanta-tude. I can safely say I ran across none of it. Everyone was quite helpful and friendly and using you guys was truly a joy!

Glad to hear it. That's typically the case, but every once in a while............

It was a very welcome change, compared to what I'm used to at CAL, where walking up to the gate is like approaching a coiled snake.

Again, that experience with you guys last month further cemented that I would love to be part of that pilot group.

Hey Whack...I fly you guys all the time and I BUY a ticket. You guys always did me right.. Reasonable upgrade prices. The only thing I don't like is that Airtran has either a 40 min connect time or 4 hrs.. I thought this was maybe only me but on a recent flight back from Ft Myers I chatted with others and they too had 4 hr connect times. I am an airline and airplane freak so it didn't bother me but for others I can see it being a problem. I know you fly the 737 but I love the 717. Great thrust to weight ratio. A real rocket....
