You can also check the seating charts on United's website to get an idea of the loads. Generally speaking, these are not 100% accurate at most airlines.

Therefore, I had a friend check loads for me to SYD from both LAX and SFO, over a 3 day period (6 flights total). After I received his info, I decided to compare it with the website seating charts for the hell of it (just curious to see how accurate it would be). It was 100% accurate for all classes on all 6 flights. However, there is no way of telling how many non-revs are listed.

Why don't you drive?

Then you won't have to rent a car when you get there.

Not sure if you will get this before the flight tonight, but if there are no weight restrictions, you should do fine. Get some toblerone for all the pilots and f/a's. introduce yourself to the purser, sweet talk him/her and if they are feeling nice tonight there are over 10 business class seats open as of right now. good luck!

I, too, have found UAL.com to be accurate for this. I've compared what I saw on the website to actual loads checked by a friend of mine and they are very close. As you said, the only thing you need after UAL.com is to get a non-rev list.

Friday out of LAX looks ok at this point. ZED will only permit you into Y class I do believe. I would think you will get a seat, perhaps no row to yourself. Fortunately only 5 NRSA's listed for all cabins. Have you looked at doing Delta out of LAX? If I were to brave that long of a flight in Y class, DL's 777LR beats the pants out of UA's 744.

flight 839-11 jun LAX SYD B744 1 seat open first 12 seats business and 19 in coach. I would have upgraded to business . 8:38m, in LAX at this update
