gary even said they are really looking at international expansion, and will make a decision later this year. If they do, and with the rnp being done later this year, hopefully fleet growth is around the corner! Anyone hear sw hired 150 customer agents in den too! Lots going on

I dont work for SWA, but I remember reading posters here a few years ago how SWA's advantage was running out. The fuel hedges are running out, the Herb's are running out, blah, blah, blah. Congrats to SWA employees who are getting the last laugh. Gotta love when the underdog overcomes and shows the so called "experts" they are wrong again.

Compare the two embolden numbers above Herk... You might want to try some ketchup with the crow you should be eating right about now... Granted, this is for the summer quarter, and it is likely to change as international flights are pulled down in the winter, but I don't think that SWA is running away with the game any more like they used to. If they were, why all the interest in the LGA quagmire and.. gulp.. international??? really??

Kelly spoke of a Code Share with a mexican airline and not expanding the fleet. Code Share at SWA?

All streaks come to an end.. but whatever makes you happy. You seem a little bitter for some reason.

Funny, I was thinking the same thing about you. You definitely have some weird obsession with SWA.

Profits are always good, but it definitely was a little bit of a disappointment. Plus no growth.

No, not really.. well maybe a little bit, but only because guys like Herk seem to beat us over the head about them now and again. And what is puzzling is that he says he doesn't work there yet he likes to twist a knife in the rest of us. Arrogance is not an endearing trait. Actually I couldn't care much less about SWA... Great company, no doubt. Good management.. absolutely, but would I want to work there? Not a chance. It's midnight here, and I am looking out my hotel window at the chain bridge in Budapest. Much more interesting than yet another Kansas City (fine city.. I have relatives there) layover or whatever.. To each his own. They are a different kind of company and are really not comparable to the legacies any more than Greyhound except that Greyhound doesn't fly airplanes. I have friends there, and I wish them nothing but the best... it's just not my cup of tea. The goulash here is really really good btw.

This is the interesting dichotomy I see from LUV management and Southwest employees. They have taken the title "the underdog" as a badge of honor but this underdog has become the Goliath. Massive amounts of cash, massive add campaigns, and massive lobbying. The very thing they say they find abhorrent. Lots of great folks and an incredibly well run company but they are not the underdog. Make no mistake they are Goliath.

Their fuel hedges did run out. It didn't mean that they would lose money, it meant that they would have to raise fares to make money. That is what they did, and when they did all the other airlines could raise fares too. Now all the domestic airlines are making money because they are on more or less a level playing field.
