Liquid Bombs?

I cant believe I forgot about those missing students. When I saw that on the news a couple days ago, I almost completely discounted its importance and potential severity. Maybe now, the US gov't will finally release their pictures so that the US citizens can actually aid in the search.
As a side note, does anyone watch Glenn Beck's show on Headline News? Personally, I like it.

Pair with passenger info, phones linked to terror
With regards to the motivation for this sudden threat of an attack on our aircraft, I'm willing to bet dollars to donuts that it has something to do with this brand new war in the middle east, that we're not even involved in. I suppose it could also lend evidence to the idea that these degenerate douche bags are going to use anything as an excuse to attack us even if we don't actually do anything to them.
If I understand correctly, ever single instance of air piracy/air terrorism was purpetrated by young arab muslim males, with the exception of the D.B. Cooper hijacking. To paraphrase Ann Coulter, in that kind of situation it's no longer "racial profiling", it's "description of the suspect". It's no different than saying "the suspect was wearing blue jeans and a red tshirt".

I want to take a moderate stance on the profiling issue.
There is no question that the people who are committing these acts (or planning to) are Middle Eastern males age 15-45. So it inherently makes sense to be watching these people more carefully. But you also have to remember that 99% of Middle Eastern males age 15-45 ARE NOT terrorists.
I will never forget flying on Fri, September 14th, 2001. Three Middle Eastern men stood up at the same time. My heart skipped a beat. Everyone's head turned, ready to act. It turned out the man at the window seat needed to go to the bathroom. I felt terrible afterwards.
So here's my opinion. Middle Eastern men age 15-45 should be monitered more than 8 year old Timmy and Johnny on their way to see grandma. Maybe the TSA screener should take a second look at their bag on the way through the X-ray, instead of complacently letting the bag run down the belt. Maybe a higher percentage % of male Middle Easterner's age 15-45 should be randomly checked, especially if you are not a US citizen. Take a second look at their ID. ETC... They should still go through the same security line that you and I do. I just think you should be more vigilent when someone who fits this profile walks through an airport security checkpoint.
Personally, I think uniformed and ID carrying pilots should not be subjected to things like random screening, bag checks, shoes off, etc... If a pilot wants to bring down a plane, all they need to do is crash it.
The way it should be/remain is a uniformed and badged pilot should be allowed to cut the line (or go through designated employee checkpoint), put his bag through the X-ray, and walk through the metal detector. No taking off shoes. No taking out laptops. As long as they aren't carrying a knife or a gun, they should be ok.

2800 dead, smoke and flame still rising over downtown manhattan...you absolutely should have been nervous about it. No need to take political correctness to ludicrous extremes.

But, like you said: Pilots don't need a gun or knife to hurt their passengers, so why screen at all? The 10-yr background checks, and uniform/ID should suffice, especially since rampers and caterers get access to AIRSIDE with NO screening.

I hope (but I'm not counting on it) somebody at TSA/DHS will get off their @ss and start doing something to fix it.
