Default United Wins DOT Decision-Making Contract

It's official: the DOT has outsourced all decision-making functions to United:

United Wins LAX-Shanghai Approval - TheStreet

24 hours approval? Tilton must be furious. I bet LaHood got a little *****-slap and a "What's with the f[..]'n delays, Ray?".

Government is trying to save face after making CAL give up EWR slots to SWA and then watching "poor lonely" SWA buy another carrier within weeks, thereby tossing out the "anti-competitive" BS.

The best way to save face for the DOT is to make SWA give back the EWR slots and give up some of the LGA slots they will get with the AAI merger.
