But how will they do the cargo feed? Or does AS even care?
Baja. It could go something like this: DL keeps QX as a wholly-owned (I know DL is trying to get out of the WO business but it might be different with QX since they already have their own established brand). QX would then take over the majority of the intra-Alaska flying and keep their Pac-NW TP flying. The west coast RJ type flying that QX had would get sent to one of the other DCI operators (QX's RJ's are going away anyway). DL would keep the ANC/FAI to the lower 48/Hawaii and would take as much belly cargo as they could on those flights. The cargo only and combi airplanes would be gone along with the rest of the 737-400 fleet. |

Aircraft 407QX was broke in KTN a while ago and all mgmt said was it was a misprint. But what other airports do we fly to that starts with a K? KMT is gone. Congrats on the recalls. Hope everyone is back soon.
KMT? Kampot, Cambodia? Or did you mean LMT, Klamath Falls, OR? Either way, you're right, I don't think that QX flies to any airport that start with a K. |
Looks like the military "teat" has dried up for the Reserves. Many of us took a mil LOA when furloughs started to help keep guys on property. Well since this all happened, we don't have orders to stay out anymore and more importantly it just got pretty challenging to make a living. I imagine many returning over the next couple months. What terrible timing.

Anyone have any idea how many military guys are planning on coming back with this round of 12?
On the previous group of 12, I heard rumors that not all were coming back. I know the 2 week period is coming up, any word on actual numbers? Giddy but reserved.... |

I hope they come up with some money soon to keep the MPA going at least on a limited basis. Doesn't sound promising though.

Alaska Air CEO Confident Of Keeping Hawaii Advantage
By Doug Cameron, Of DOW JONES NEWSWIRES Alaska has more than a dozen marketing ties with other airlines and is seen as a logical takeover candidate for a carrier such as the American Airlines unit of AMR Corp. (AMR) looking to beef up its west coast presence. "It's not that we are totally opposed [to a deal]," said Ayer after a speech at an industry conference in Seattle. He said Alaska just preferred the prospects of continuing as an independent operator, mining its strong community links with the Pacific Northwest. __________________________________________________ _______________ That was a subtle but significant change of tone... |
Please don't let it be AMR.
