(I know this is in the Upstart section - just wanna get Virgin America folks to chime in)

uhmmm, isn't this why Virgin America was developed? And / or Does Virgin America already have this partnership with Virgin Atlantic?

Virgin Atlantic and JetBlue Airways announce partnership

Virgin Atlantic and JetBlue Airways have announced a new transatlantic interline partnership linking both airlines’ route networks.
Under this agreement, Virgin Atlantic passengers travelling from London, Glasgow and Manchester can now purchase single itineraries combining travel on both Virgin Atlantic and JetBlue flights from JetBlue’s Boston, New York, Washington and Orlando bases.
Air passengers will now be offered one-stop ticketing and baggage check-in whether their travel starts with Virgin Atlantic or JetBlue.
Edmond Rose, Director of Commercial and Revenue Planning for Virgin Atlantic said, “We are delighted to begin this interline cooperation with JetBlue.This partnership will offer Virgin Atlantic passengers a streamlined journey between our four U.K. airports and many cities across the U.S. and Puerto Rico, enjoying the highest standards of service throughout their travels.”

Interesting. I know Sir Branson worked with Neelemen in the beginning and tried to partner with the creation of Jetblue. The government wouldn't allow it.

I find this article disturbing if it's true. I wouldn't be surprised (now) if a merger of blue and Vx was in the mix for the future. I don't work at either place so I have no clue.

Yes, vx and vs have the same agreement. vx and vs also have agreements with many other airlines. I guess everyone you have an agreement with is now going to buy you. weird.

Find that odd as well. If every agreement meant an eventual merger, there would be one giant global airline. Sometimes an interline agreement is just an interline agreement.

In the early nineties, even Delta was hooked up with Virgin. To the extent that a number of DAL F/As were assigned to VX. Don't see this as anything to worry about. Agreements come and go.
