Would you say the best thing to do at CAL is to just to fly the 737? Better seniority and a very varied domestic/north american network.

The 737 is the majority of the flying at CAL. It does all the domestic, Central America, and Carribean. My first flight in the 737 was Newark to Panama. There is a lot to see and do on it. I was hired into the 737 (whole class was). Now new hires can get the 757 & 777 because no one wants to fly it- at least as a junior pilot. CAL types you in all their planes so you can be an IRO. The 737NG's are ETOPS approved. Get the 737 type and fly it for awhile, then bid the 757, then if you get bored the 777 and 787. You have your whole career to fly different aircraft, don't hurry. The most valuable type rating in the industry is the 737- its the most popular airliner in history.
