Default May 3rd Denver Picket

I have the author's permission to post this. All are welcome, but you have to RSVP to get on the permit.

Dear Fellow United Pilot,

On May 3rd United Pilots will mark the one year anniversary of the United/Continental merger announcement with system-wide picketing events. As you are undoubtedly aware, progress towards a combined collective bargaining agreement has been slow and the parties are far from agreement on many pivotal sections. It is up to us, the membership, to empower our MEC and Negotiating Committee to deliver on our behalf. May 3rd presents us with the opportunity to demonstrate our resolve.

In Denver, the officers of councils 33 and 93 are supporting this May 3rd effort with a Joint Council Meeting, to be held at the Holiday Inn & Suites (6900 Tower Road). Coffee and bagels will be available at 7:30 and the meeting will come to order at 8am. ALPA members of all councils are invited and encouraged to attend.

After the brief council meeting concludes (sometime between 9:00 and 9:30am) participants will proceed to the DIA Employee Landside Lot to board buses for the main terminal. Picketing will then commence and continue until noon. We will likely be joined by members of other employee groups and pilots from other airlines. So please take the time to welcome our guests and thank them for their support.

DIA management issues name-specific permits to demonstrate at the airport. Therefore, please RSVP by email to [email protected] if there is even a remote chance you will participate in this Denver picketing event. We will then obtain a permit for you.

Please join your peers in this show of commitment and solidarity. We will achieve the contract we deserve. Your family, your fellow United Pilots, and your profession need your involvement. Waiting quietly is not an option!

Bravo. Always nice to see a union of pilots being active.

Fraternally,
Nice,

Why wasn't it sent to all UAL pilots with an active email address at ALPA Nat'l. I know of quite a few furloughs that live in the area and might want to attend.....

I have no problem as I left of my own accord, but know others that didn't.

I didn't remove my email from council 12's list but don't get emails from them anymore. Do get MEC and Nat'l emails though.....

Just an observation and hope it goes well. Given the fact that UAL's MEC is distracted by it's own political games, can't wonder that the company won't yawn...........
