Delta 747/777 schedule

Looking for a some sample schedules for a 747/777 captain/FO, senior or junior. Don't even care if it's Delta. Thanks!

Captain / FO, Senior / Junior, you do realize that is a huge variety of schedule

Sure, but that's why I asked for sample schedules, not typical schedules. All I can find on the forum are schedules for the RJ's, new pilots, etc. I am looking for some idea of what schedules are like when I finally "make it", some examples of the big trips, international, etc. I figure by the time you're flying the 747/777, you'll have a schedule I'm interested in, regardless of your status on that plane. :)

Assuming you make it that far, and that's assuming a fair amount, it'll be a small enough percentage of your career that you should really disregard it when deciding whether an aviation career is worthwhile. Quoting salary and schedule "once you make it" is a ploy of the flight training industry and others with something to sell. Your salary and schedule in the years you could really use a good salary and schedule - early marriage, raising your kids - is what you should really be investigating. Unfortunately until some things change in this industry, what you'll find isn't particularly encouraging.

DAL 777 trips are typically 2 VERY long legs and 3-6 days on average.

747 trips are typically 8-11 days with a few 3-6 days.

Doubtful you would think you "made it" if you saw my schedule. We fly 747's and 777's. 20 days on in a row, 40 if they are put back to back (not hard to figure out who i fly for now), 30% or more below industry standard, be careful what you ask for...

"I asked for sample schedules, not typical schedules."

Is there a difference? What is your point? The trips are all over the map, from one day turns to 12 days in and out of Tokyo to all over Asia. Even at Delta our trip bidding system allows us to build what ever type of schedule we want, depending on seniority of course. And by the time you make it, it will have changed anyway, so what info are you really after?

Why the harshness? The guy asked a question to find out information. Not everyone was born knowing all about the airline business and lifestyle. Would you say what you said above to a 10 year old kid that came to your cockpit and asked the same question? C'mon.

Timbo 06-03-2011 05:42 AM

My response was not meant to be harsh, I was just trying to figure out exactly what he want's to know. There is no "Typical" or "Sample" schedule, everyone bids differently and gets what ever the computer throws at them. As I explained, there is any mix of 1-12 day trips, some even longer.

And are there any 10 year old kids here? In that case, cue the Barny Music...

And what did he mean by, "...don't even care if it's Delta."??
