Waiting on the outcome is a mixed blessing.

I interviewed with Airtran on the 6th of this month and I have come to realize that not knowing the outcome is a mixed blessing. You know on one hand having not gotten the letter that says "thanks but no thanks" but on the another still highly awaiting the phone call that says "COME ON DOWN...YOURE STARTING CLASS NEXT WEEK!!". I can say this I have never hated going to the mail box more than I have these last few weeks. But at the same time its great to be on the verge of a possible new job.

Anyway I'm stressed but I think its better to feel this way than the disappointment I would feel if the "letter" should darken my mailbox.

Peace:confused:

Fear not...

Several of my friends have interviewed with them recently, and it seems to be at least a three week wait to find out. So you're CLOSE.. .

just keep those fingers crossed!

I've always believed that applying/waiting for the interview call is very stressful, preparing for/performing the interview is even more stressful, and waiting for the call after the interview is the most stressful of all. Why do they do that to us?

"They" do not do it. "We" do it to ourselves.

Don't get too discouraged. I think the company is trying to figure out how they are going to reduce the deliveries for next year and how that fits into the training pipeline. ( I heard a reduction from 19 deliveries to 15). Hang in there and good luck!

I was one of six who interviewed on the 14th. Although I haven't heard yet, I just got an E-mail from one of the other guys who interviewed that day. He was called yesterday, and offered a class date of October 9.

Best of luck to you. IMHO, there has never been any rhyme or reason to airline pilot hiring.
