AirTran/Delta Jumpseat

The buzz around ATL is that as of October 4th, AirTran pilots will no longer be able to jumpseat on Delta. This was confirmed by a Delta gate agent in ATL last night, although the CA and FO had no knowledge of this.

Is this due to the fact that CASS is still not yet implemented at AirTran (there was evidently a paperwork SNAFU with the gov't, go figure), and the interline agreement is being terminated? Any word from the DL boys would be appreciated.

I am an AirTran pilot who bums a ride coming and going every week on DL, and the pilots and FA's always been hospitible, but if the gate agents are driving this, what are we to do? I also know that there are lots of DL guys who jumpseat on us to get to work, and more importantly, home; I have heard no official word from our CP's office concerning this, but again, maybe this is a customer service thing.

In any case, I would hope that this can be ironed out ASAP as it is in both our interests to ensure that access to the jumpseat is unfettered.

Sincerely,
Timeoff2fish

Hey timeoff,

This is not true. We still have reciprocal agreements with Delta. The interline agreement for transfering passengers and the purchase of nov rev travel will be cancelled. Several gate agents have confused this with the jumpseat also. From the union, NOT SO.

If you have any issues call out jumpseat coordinator.
