If you're referring to CG, yes she left right around the tail end of our last hiring "spree." Hard to believe she was with ALK for 20+ years.

Anyway, I doubt they are going to bring back the sim eval. We don't have sim time to spare right now, let alone for interviews.

I was refering to CG. I had heard that she left through grapevine. I didn't know she was with AS for that long. Any idea why she left?

I'm not sure why she left. She probably got a better offer with another company. I did hear that she was fed up with some people in flight ops (particularly a certain Captain with the initials "BG") disrespecting her.

She definitely had people skills and she could read people very well. I think her toes were stepped on more than once about which candidates to hire, etc.

I think CG leaving was a big loss for ALK.

Here's the latest rumors:

1. Website down due to Peoplesoft problems. That should be fixed by this week.
2. No sim check.
3. No medical.
4. 3 step interview process...Phone interview with HR. Board interview with pilots and HR. Personal interview with CP.

Good Luck and welcome aboard. It'll be nice to have some new guys in the system.

Hey Fish,

Thanks for the info. Do you know if both board and personal interviews are conducted on the same day or on multiple days as in pass/fail phases?

Thanks in advance

I hope the board and CP interview are on the same day. hard to get time off to interview.`

Also hoping for a single day interview as working half way around the world makes it difficult to arrange multiple days of interviewing similar to FedEx's. But if required, more than willing to jump through any hoops at any time. One can always hope.

History may repeat itself here. A few months before Delta bought Western, Western recalled all it's furloughed pilots and began hiring too. Not because they were short of pilots, but because they wanted more bodies on their list when it came time to negotiate a new seniority list.

One often heard phrase in 1986 was, "All you have to do to get hired at Western, is tell them you just got turned down at Delta!"

What airlines would be interested in Alaska?

The rumors at Delta are...Delta.

Still just a rumor, but that's how these things always start, right? ;^)
