MCO Parking
#11
From my company message board:
"I was just at GOAA permit parking office. They provided me with a list of about 15 options for parking in the area. 1 of them is park ez fly. The phone number is 407 208 9333. I called them and they said they would provide non based crew members with monthly parking passes for a fee of 40 dollars. That is the best deal I have found so far. If anyone else hears of a cheaper price please post"

The lot is located at the north end of Casa Verde Rd.
The Marriott was offering parking for around $4/day, The Parking Spot was $6.71/day, and EZ Fly was $40 per month. As stated earlier, GOAA has a list of other options, but they all seemed to be exorbitantly expensive. I'm just going to start riding Lynx for $2 each trip.
Apparently GOAA looked into opening a new lot but decided against said project because it would raise parking fees for MCO based employees.

Other than that, only JetBlue, Southwest, Airtran, and Allegiant can park now. It's the dumbest thing I've ever heard of, but whatever. Call the District Manager Thomas Draper at 407-825-3201 and voice your displeasure. Flood his voice mail with messages about how this is discriminatory against commuters. It might get you somewhere. I asked him about why there are no parking spots and he says that it's during noon-2pm. Well, no kidding. That time frame coincides with TSA shift change. What a genius!

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply getting around a situation. I meant to clarify how DAL can still park there. It's called a real contract that actually looks out for it's employees, something we at CAL/UAL need to learn!
At CAL we were going to open a MCO base 2 years ago until this merger BS started

A stupid decision by a bunch of pencil pushing cubicle dwellers.
Probably to make room for the upper echelon of class TSA workers.
The ignorance of feed at the public trough employees never ceases to amaze.
Maybe a threat to be sick on every flight to MCO would get managements' attention to fix this asap.

I suspect that the TSA does not pay for parking, at least directly. There will be a large loss of revenue for GOAA from this decision. Perhaps when the figure out how much diesel we were buying for there buses they will reconsider.

Just spoke with Tom the douche Draper.
Totally unsympathetic to commuters plight. They need more space and this is the only solution they can come up with. Typical cubicle dweller.
Let your management know that this is unacceptable.
Tell him how convenient it is for the GOAA employees to have free parking and a shuttle to the terminal at our expense.

They haven't added any employee spaces in 10 years. It's an issue that needs to be addressed with GOAA.

Not being able to park at the airport lot as a commuter is hardly unique to MCO.

No, its an issue the TSA should address. It is a pure TSA caused problem. They insist on doing a full shift change at approximately. 1 pm. So two full shifts of the cockroaches are parked at one time.
