Default Thank you FFDOs

Thank you FFDOs for your defense of the skies. A thankless job.

Not to take anything away from the FFDOs, but there were quite a few who put up a pretty [...] good fight 10 years ago without any formal training and equipment.

I agree with you, but they, (Flight Crews), were lacking valuable tools and training that would have changed the outcome.

I second the motion and am thankful that the Administration allowed them to become part of the airline security system. Not sure what current folks in Washington would do, but in the time since 9/11, this is probably one of the few ideas that has demonstrable effect with little economic cost.

As a freight dog, we have our group of FFDOs as well, but the "average" terrorist (not talking "I gotta die today to get my share of the virgins before they're gone" Jhadist here...) has to give pause to think about having to cope with one or more armed crewmembers if and when they get through the hardened door.

In any case, to those willing to take on this role, kudos to you!

Thanks. Despite the fact that no airliners have been taken over since then, it's not hard to imagine the current administration's feelings about the program, and armed conflict in general. As Mark Steyn wrote in a recent column, "We've gone from let's roll to let's roll over."

On 9/11/01 I learned two things:

1) Always bring a gun to a knife fight.
2) Everything I need to know about Islam.

Carry on, brothers & sisters. Thanks for your service.

Thank you President Bush for killing every one you had killed that wanted to kill us first and allowing us to defend ourselves.

Mod note:
The last few posts have strayed awfully close to political.
