Any non-AA pilots park at DFW and commute?
 

I am sure this thread will be moved. . but I'll throw it out there now and try to get some gouge. . I'm a new hire with an airline, living in DFW, will be commuting to LGA/JFK. Anyone have the gouge on how/where to park at DFW for non-AA employees?

Just follow the 1000 or so DAL guys that does it....

If I could give you the details I would..

If your airline has gates at DFW, you can get parking. See your station manager to get a Non-Based Crew Member letter to take to the parking office in Terminal B. If your airline doesn't serve DFW, then you can't use Employee Parking. The off-airport lots (Parking Spot and Fast Track) I think offer deals to crew members. Check with them.

If your airline serves DFW, then contact your base manager for the form. They will fill most of it out for you. The form or the manager will tell you where the parking office is. Parking is $20-22 per month (can't remember). It is a great deal compared to the other airports that I have commuted from.

Parking Spot (I use North, right off 114) offers 50% off normal rates for all crew members (even fracs). They have a frequent user card that accrues points and that can be used for free parking. They also take reservations which helps especially at the holidays. I have found the shuttle to be a little slow at times but overall a good experience. If memory serves $4.50 a day for covered.

I work for AA. Per our contract, they will pay for parking at our base, or our commuter city, but only the less expensive one. If I got a DFW tag from them, I'd have to foot the $1K/year bill for all three airports in DC.

When I asked the flight office in DFW about buying a DFW tag, they told me I could not do it. I'll have to ask around a little more. I'd like to get out of the parking spot, and back into the employee lot.

My airline does serve DFW but we do not have a base there (UAL). I get a letter from UA's DFW station secretary. It is titled "non-based crewmember parking permit" or something. I take it to Terminal D - Parking control (or something like that). I show my crew badge and the letter, pay with a check, and they give me a parking pass. I believe you can obtain a 3,6,9 or 12 month pass. 12 month is the best value. I'm reimbursed, but some are not so lucky. There are two employee lots - North & South. South covers terminal E and North covers terminals A&B - I believe. I only use the south. I just take the new Skylink train that is in secured area if I need to get to AA terminals.
