  • Delta threatens it can't purchase any more small aircraft.

  • TSA/GoJetsss is launch customer for the MRJ - 50 orders looking for a home.
  • Republic is launch customer for the C-Series - 80 orders looking for a home.
Can anyone connect these dots?

Don't forget we have a 50/50 ratio in our PWA with AF that means we add more smaller WB to their premium WB. Also means we park more with reductions.

Problem is we don't with anyone else. Wow, look at all those premium WB orders at Farnborough.

Problem is how do you actually contractually enforce a PWA ratio with a foreign company that was not a signator to your PWA? Oh that's right, DAL will pull out of the JV to abide by our contract

And of course if you take it to arbitration you might lose and then it becomes precedent.......

Do you honestly think Delta would survive in a global world as a stand alone airline? You might also read section 1. We have a excellent section on code shares. Probably the best overall part of our scope agreement. Why do you think we are picking up ORD-CDG. There are very specific limits on percentages of flying with our partners.
Since we have joined Skyteam our international flying has expended faster then any other segment of the airline. Guess where are London slots have come from? If you think we would have more international flying going it alone I think your sadly mistaken.

The answer is simple, you buy your competition and sign as many Joint Ventrures and Code Shares as possible, wash, rinse, repeat.

When the employess get P.O.'d, you file bankruptcy and toss their contracts down the lav.

Bonuses all around!

The company has no illusions we will give up scope in this contract. They don't have the courts and a judge to force the issue. I don't think it will even be a major issue in negotiations. At best it will be a throwaway item from the company if its in their opener.

I agree 100%. They know we won't do it, & they can't force our hand with bankruptcy.

I guess they are reducing North Atlantic capacity to make way for VA!

While the language may be good, the 1 year time limit to readjust percentages if they get too far out of line is way too long. 3 months would be more appropriate.

Boomer,

Possible but very, very unlikely. DAL is already at or very near the contractual limit for large RJ's so for this to happen the pilot group at DAL would have to cave on Scope.

Like I said its possible - it happened before, but remember, DAL was in BK with a BK judge ultimately empowered to decide on any impasse between the Pilots and DAL.

DAL has no such leverage today and if the Pilot group is stupid enough to give 1 seat or 1 pound on Scope then its time for every DAL pilot below a seniority of about 8000-9000 (depending on his/her age) to realize that we missed the ship and move on to Career plan B.

Scoop

What is the liklihood that those 80 CS series ordered by republic are actually destined for DAL and are being purchased using RAH as a shell company? I know it is out on a limb, but I just dont think RAH is going to operate those jets.
