Certainly this can't be over the Pope's comments a few weeks ago?

You all better get to thinking Muslims are peaceful. If not, they'll kill you.

maybe you should read the article. the guy isn't even muslim he is christian.
he did not hijack the plane to protest the popes comments but to seek political asylum.

"I have been a churchgoer since 1998, I found the true path in Jesus and in the Bible," Ekinci reportedly wrote.

The guy was unarmed? Why didn't he get dragged out and beat down and stuffed in an overhead?

"There was another"- Prove it, lets see.

Default not about Pope

I heard something on TV in passing that the hijacking had nothing to do with the Pope's comments. The hijacker had written the Pope a letter about something. He was a millitary deserter or something like that.

Yea, they say that now, but the news reported the Pope angle first before they got their facts.

That's what I want to know. If he got into my cockpit unarmed, I'd take him out bare handed (I'm an ex-cop, so I know how).
