Default Delta to close KMEM pilot domicile?

Is this true. Were will they go/ when? Does this mean less service there has Southwest won again?

It was closed to fund a NYC 320 category and more MD-88/90 pilots as we take delivery of more 90s. There was a lot of "credit" built into the MEM trips due to deadheads, so it was more efficient to rebase the domicile.

We'll find out where the pilots bid to late this week or early next week.

The FA base remains and the amount of mainline departures is remaining more or less static.

I'm fairly certain Southwest doesn't serve MEM, so they couldn't have won there. AirTran has, but not SWA. Also, Delta will still serve MEM, we just won't have a pilot base there.

Hey Guys,

Many of DAL's mem crews live in/around the planet. Depending on their new base, I would expect to see many more DAL folks looking for a purple jumpseat in/out.....can you help a brother out ?

Regards,
BG

Hey Einstein, if he were a Deltoid he wouldn't be asking this question.. especially here.. and since we don't make any of the decisions that affect the company, you are right that we cannot take any responsibility other than flying the aircraft.. duh...

Pea,

You have a point. But it is hard to defend on a web board when Delta manages its traffic like J. Howard Marshall managed his money after meeting Anna Nicole Smith.

Alaska is like an agnostic Swiss banker. They are allied with everyone and take their money.

It's ok, Southwest doesn't have to serve a city for them to "win again."

Does that make Southwest the Chuck Norris of airlines?
