What is the driver behind all the regional hiring since the start of 2011? If the majors aren't hiring, and the 50 (or less) seaters are going away according to some threads, why are the regionals hiring hundreds each? I am not being sarcastic.

Yes - I read EVERY post over Thanksgiving break.
Jeez.
Did either of you report the offending post - knowing that they were not in compliance with the TOS?
I didn't see it.
HMP - a hint for your future postings.
If you want your posts to remain up - don't quote something in your post that you think might be against the TOS and therefore deleted.
Your CASE didn't even make the docket!
Let me remind you:
I thank you for thinking that I must be the reincarnation of IC ALL - but I'm not I don't.

btw, I just visited a small flight school near where I live that was on the verge of BK and closing down 3 years ago... they are now over loaded with students and are getting $300/hr for instruction in single engine planes.... so long as kids are lining up for this, and mom and dad are willing to flip the bill.... there will never be a shortage, never.
I was just in Daytona beach, ER planes every where, that place was jumping. Theres tons of people in the pipe line, despite what these flight schools and aopa analysts would have you believe. With regards to not preparing for a shortage, they know some thing we dont. Age 70 etc.

The mandatory retirement age was raised to 65 to align with ICAO Standards. It was going to happen. I don't see it being raised farther unless it happens elsewhere first.
