Majors not hiring prior to a known shortage..

I guess my point was, while NWA wasn't perfect by any means, the Airlink's were relatively left to do thier thing in their way that maximized thier own abilities and we at least had a little feeling of being a partner with NWA in its success. With Delta it seems even more adversarial and as if Delta's goal is to make life as absolutely difficult as possible for all the Connection carriers. I (and I know most of my coworkers) feel completely unappreciated and unwanted by Delta. We are no longer the "redheaded stepchildren" we are that dirty crack*****s bastard child from down the road that belongs in jail. I just wonder if the Delta employees would once again pony up for a plane to say "thanks" to Delta as was done with that 767?
DL runs the regionals in the method most beneficial to DL, which has a much larger route network and thus will flex the regionals around much more. NW had 3 very focused hubs, which is a huge difference in itself.
You work for outsourced labor- if you want to not be the stepchild, get a job at a mainline carrier. I guess you forgot that NW drug you at XJ through a sham bankruptcy, eh?

it appears that English is not your strongest suit... but in a nutshell, I'll encapsulate what you are trying to say by saying the following..
"THERE WILL NEVER BE A SHORTAGE OF PILOTS FOR THE MAJOR AIRLINES"
and
"THERE WILL ONLY BE A SHORTAGE OF PILOTS WILLING TO WORK FOR $18/hr AT THE COMMUTERS (REGIONALS)"

Haha yeah I'm getting a chuckle at the nostalgia for NWA. They not only forced XJ into BK and then turned around and bought them for pennies on the dollar, they also got rid of the Avros and let XJ shrink down to almost nothing (before eventually awarding them the CRJs). Lots of furloughs...not good times at XJ in the mid-2000s.

As for get a job at a major, I have apps in, guys need to retire without giving up more scope so the majors can finally need to hire again.

I was one of those furloughs (probably actually helped me out quite a bit that it happened) I haven't forgotten the games NWA played, however the BK was entirely to get things lined up for the merger with Delta. NWA for years played the grow shrink game with Mesaba and Pinnacle/Express 1. But as was said it was 3 focused hubs with 3 crew bases that were stable (yes we had others at times where we did maintenance) I didn't say NWA was perfect, just better than how Delta abuses us.

Best of luck Avro. Just be careful with personal grudges in public forums. Nothing is ever private and will follow you. DAL is obviously not a good fit for you and from what I hear from you in this narrow public forum you are not a good fit for DAL either. There are more jobs out there that will offer what you seek.
However he does come across as a whiner- particularly with acute foot-in-mouth syndrome the last page or so. Those two combined will make him unhireable and unhappy most anywhere. If he wants to have a good career he needs to fix that quick.
