Please don't take anything here to heart. They can dream about all the ways your loss may be their gain, but everyone is human. Tomorrow things will change, hopefully for the best. Karma's harsh. Remember eight years ago, even the big D was in total and utter shambles. Good luck to you and everyone under the American umbrella involved in this situation.

I simply found it amusing some here have already believed with certainty AA is going to be broken up, even going do far as describing the fragmentation details.
If you don't find that humorous and actually another pathetic demonstration of the modern airline pilot mentality, we just enjoy the show differently.
Pilots have always been their own worst enemy and always will be. They are fun to listen too though.

The funny thing is if you go back to the very beginning of the "Latest and Greatest at Delta" thread you will find that alot of the stuff that was speculated on by some of the guys who you would say know nothing, was very accurate after the merger dust settled. There are some very smart dudes on this board who are very successful outside of aviation.

Man....you need to look at the people who post here. We are glorified bus drivers, nothing more...yep I said it. We get airplanes safely from point A to point B in an extremely safe and efficient manner. We do this very well, all of us. As an example, on a percentage basis, what pilot group makes up a good portion of the posts here? The big D. Many of us enjoy life doing things that don't involve airplanes, some of the pilots working for the D do not. Cruising forums is cool now and then, but there is more to life. Some people love airplanes and center their life around them, but airlines are about money and not airplanes. Not a single person who posts on this board are financial analyst, investment bankers, Chief Executive Officers or anyone that moves money. We drive the bus, thats all.

*** over? Are you serious? WHy would I want to go back flying an RJ, 10 years is enough. If you mean that both you and I are pawns in a very big game I agree. If my team ends up with a better deal great. But nobody is stealing anyones job. You go on strike and some scab decides he wants to fly in your place then your characterization is correct. Until then lets go have a beer!
