Air Canada Jumpseat SCL-EZE
 

I am looking to fly into SCL and connect to EZE. I will arrive on a DL flight and connect to the AC flight. I will have 4 hours to connect...
Please let me know how easy/diffacult this will be? I have never jumpseated on AC.

Does your airline have a reciprocal cabin Jumpseat agreement with AC? I think you may have to call ahead and list, but I'm not certain on that.

4 hrs should be more than enough time to get to the gate and check in though.

My experience with AC has been VERY positive. They treat you extremely well and usually put you in first class if space is available!

I have been on hold for 1.5 hours with the Employee line... the only way to list for a jumpseat is thru that line.
Is there a paper form you need? Do you think they will have it or know how to process me in SCL? I doubt there are very many SCL-EZE jumpseaters on AC...

There is a fuel surcharge on the jumpseat reservation. I have never heard of this... can anybody confirm that this?
The taxes are $20 but there is a fuel charge added of $45.37 - this way, it prices out $10 more than the ZED fare!
I cant believe that the ZED fare doesnt get the fuel surcharge but the jumpseat does?!

My Airline 9k has agreement. Very easy! Call to list. pay fees on Credit Card and they send you a confirmation Email.

Be careful! Make sure you are legal to make an enplanement in SCL to EZE.

That is a segment that would fall under 5th freedom rules and very few countries allow a carrier to perform 5th freedom flying.

They are selling tickets on expedia, looks like they can sell tickets between the two cities. I am mor concerned with why I am getting the fuel surcharge?

Why not ride DAL (or AA or CAL) to EZE from the US? Do you need to go through SCL first?

Also, make sure you're aware of the visa requirements for Chile and Argentina. Argentina just added the visa requirement for US citizens within the last 2 or 3 years. I believe Chile has required this for awhile. The cost of both visas will significantly overshadow the $45 fuel charge you're worrying about.

I am just going to take AC all the way from YYZ-SCL-EZE instead of DL to SCL. The reason I am lookin at AC is because UA and DL are full and capasity restricted due to their cargo loads. AC has a relatively light load on the days I am traveling.
I have the $140 visa for Argentina already...

One of our 767ER guys may chime in with better info, but I think the only time you'll have a problem with cargo weight restrictions (we call it payload optimization) is returning from EZE, not going down. I've personally non-revved without problem going to ATL-EZE, but have been bumped (and had friends bumped) on the return from EZE-ATL due to cargo.
