Default Driving to JFK (employee parking)?

I have a few questions for those that drive to JFK. Currently, I live in Brooklyn and use public transportation to get to work (subway or LIRR). I am considering getting a car and am wondering how much time it could save on my commute. What are the best employee lots to park in (that are available to B6 crew-members)? How long does it take from the employee lot to T5? Is it available 24 hrs? Reliability? Relatively safe?

Thanks for any info or suggestions!

I drive from CT and park at the Leiferts station lot. Commute time depends on the time of day, route I take, etc. Once hitting Long Island it is anywhere between 20 mins with no traffic to 1 hour+ with traffic. From brooklyn the belt pkwy can get really nasty if you were to get done with a red eye and drive home. Also allot 20 mins for the airtrain and t5 walk.

From the long term to T5 takes 20 minutes give or take. Sometimes faster depending on if you hit the AirTrain just right. Otherwise you sit there blowing time. Lot is as safe as any other major airport long term lot. I have had no issues knock on wood. I drive a beater, but see high dollar cars parked their daily. Security constantly drives around..like mall security, I'm not too sure how effective they are.
