JetBlue Names New Leaders

What if he is one of those guys who doesn't like to fly. Never have trusted a pilot who weasels his way in to a management position and then never touches the stick. Doesn't matter that he is getting his 320 rating or not. That is just for credibility. Never heard anything horrible about him but I certainly will be asking some questions. The JB guys/gals will have to fill us in on how he is doing. Frankly, I know a pilot in management at JB who would have been a great choice for the position. I don't buy the "there wasn't anyone internal" argument.
What if he is coming over for some future nefarious purpose.

The majority of management pilots at JetBlue are as you described. Hired and almost immediately a management pilot. This leads directly to distrust as these pilots lack the understanding of how things work on the line yet are constantly making "improvements" to justify their positions.
Don't get me wrong we have a few management pilots who do a great job. Most are in the the training department but again they were hired, most never flew the line and went directly into management.
At least with this Swa guy he has real airline experience. Whether his efforts prove worthy remains to be seen but his resume is already better than our entire leadership team.
