UAL or UCAL whatever it is called these day's, has and continues to be a screwed up mess. It has a bunch of neutered ALPA pilots running around working for CH11 peanuts as management laughs at what chumps their sucker employee's are...

Why would anyone in their right mind want to go there?

The only reason I can think of is if you are at some regional then go to UAL and get some A-320 training then blow them off and go to one of the China operator's where there would be some advancement and money. Your not going to find that at UAL anytime soon.

After just about 9.5 years at JetBlue I would say GO FOR IT! JetBlue's future is questionable at best, UAL will be around for the long haul. JB benies are atrocious and with no representation I would expect very few improvements.

I wouldn't leave Walmart for United. It was a waste of 9 years of my life. The worst decision I ever made.

Your fellow pilots/ALPA will throw you under the bus to get what they, the senior guys want. I spent years on reserve, forced to work 95 hours a month, 6 days a month at home, all my trips were non-commutable. Pay sucked furloughed twice and unable you use any of my flight benefits as I had no time off. I never got to take any vacation as I was junior, and they only paid out at 2.8 hours a day. Senior guys manage to get 9 hours pay for a day.

Now I'm furloughed again I get to use them all the time. Finally after 12 years!

No, I'd stay at JB. I don't think the economic mess is over. Now is not the time to be on the bottom of a seniority list if you don't have to.

FYI ...Less than 5% of the JB pilots will reach age 65 over the next 10 years.

Thats what you get when the MEC chair sits on the Board...MEC chair=Director, Director=Management, therefore MEC Chair=Management.

Dont forget the Convertible Note...Senior guys took most of that after bankruptcy, then hung around til age 65.

Here is something to think about. Based on Jetblue LTD insurance the captain of flight 191 will not be covered. Should this happen at United this would not be an issue. Again, something to think about.
