NWA is recalling/ No one wants to come back!

NWA still has 729 pilot out. VP of Flt.Ops sent calls out for recalling pilots. Out of the 425 pilots recalled, 210 deferred the recall. The other 215 have not returned NWA calls! Gee, NWA Mgt. wonders why they are having such a tough time? NWA has never learned how to treat their employees the right way. If your out there, waiting for the call, check with your buddies first and get the low down on the new NWA, its not the same since they pushed you out the door. Make your decession on your return to a position with all the facts. Do not leave a good job you may have now for this place!
Welcome Back should you decide to comeon back. We need all the help we can get. Sorry to see so many good pilots/people treated so poorly.

are you being honest here. out of 425 recalls notices no one is coming back on their 1st call back. that seems a little hard to believe.

Let me clarify. The way I read it from my letter, 215 have either bypassed or deferred recall and the remainder (210) have either not yet responded or have accepted the recall.

It goes on to say that at present contact rates, the bottom of the furlough list could be reached by March 2007.

I don't know what the acceptance rates for recall are (because they aren't published), but I hear they are around 20% tops.

I'm assuming that is for the 1st round of recalls...

That's because many of them are at UPS making near 200k as newhire Mgt pilots.

astrojet 10-26-2006 06:55 AM

why would they want to come back and fly a 40 year old DC-9 for $30.00 an hour(1st year pay) 6 legs a day 10hour overnights and ****ty bases like dtw-msp-mem. old fugly fa's, contracted(crummy) maint. and freeze in fargo, duluth, flint, saginaw etc....almost have to be a masochist!!!!

furloughman 10-26-2006 07:59 AM

Don't forget no crew meals with 40 min turns and an aircraft change. Poor morale, increased insurance premiums, shotty maintenance etc, etc, etc.....
0h, but we do get the whole bottle of water now, not just allowed one cup ful.

Hey, don't knock NWA management! They DID offer that helpful tip about dumpster-diving to adjust after your pay cuts!

Do all NWA pilots write as eloquently as you? Represent your respective carrier a little more professionally than that!
