Was in the first MD82 class in Long Beach. The capts were DC9 drivers and were somewhat awed at the glass (the ones who had not flown the 75/76). The 88 was my first capt's job there and loved it.
After our sim session, the techs had to pull out the "glass" and re-install the round dials for the AMR guys scheduled next. The FMS wasn't ready yet, so we used "arc" or "rose" modes until the magic stuff showed up later. |
Bar, I think you have all of the information you need to make a compelling case to the AJC that Delta Air Lines operates 117 absolutely unsafe airplanes.
Evidenced by its full of aerodynamic improvements like a 1900D, using an FMS that is also used in Boeings and that if operated outside of Honeywell's recommendations can be unsafe, and because it was certified by a drunk over three martini's on a Friday... December 8, 1987... which was a Tuesday. |
