Weird, I thought I offered up some concilliatory words, juts before Mookie chose to urinate on Delta pilots.
I'm not saying it'll be Delta... but if you've got a pretty good thing going, and you're happy working at your company, and you're in a pretty benign, tolerant environment (has to be, to accept cute sexual-revolution-forward nicknames like "Mookie"), and your company is doing well... that's a sure sign there's an executive somewhere that will not let this stand. At any rate, I think the title of this thread is arrogant, but I notice Arrogance Goes Around. Like Good used to, but faster... |
I love how cocky the Jr Delta guys are. Were you guys not in bankruptcy protection like a week ago?? Maybe it just seems that way. I'd worry more about your senior guys selling you out for scope so they can pad their lake house fund.

Your company is getting a 3:1 windfall over DL right now with this mostly one sided code share and you can't understand why DL pilots are upset about that. You then try to turn it into a DL arrogance/AS pride situation. So how do you think the SLI should go? I'm thinking a ratio at the 737 level after all equivalent positions above are stapled to the top, with all AS new hires stapled to the bottom no matter how many that ends up being, and long, wide, tall, thick fences for 20 years or so. Thoughts? |

AS has has the west coast & frequency for a long time. Boy it's funny to watch the Delta guys knock everyone but their own. Nominated for TOTD... Back in the late 1980's Delta purchased Western Airlines. At the time Western was the largest carrier at LAX and had an extensive route network across the western US and some Canadian cities as well. Western also had a significant presence in Alaska by virtue of their purchase of PNA (Pacific Northern Airlines) in 1967. So yes, many (if not most) Delta pilots resent the growth of Alaska at the expense of Delta pilot jobs, and history backs up their contention. If you look at the history of Alaska Airlines at the time of deregulation you had a whopping ten airplanes and the only city you served in the lower 48 was Seattle... |
This thread needs to die. It serves no purpose.

No alaska 'pride' thing here, just delta arrogance to anything and everything aviation. It has little to do with this situation right here.
I'll worry about sli when the time comes...you guys are aware that not every pilot in the planet wants to fly for Delta, right? Mookie |

Mookie You guys are awesome. We're code sharing and it's mutually beneficial. Don't know if you've been thru LAX lately but if you see don't we're attached at the hip, you're insane. Welcome aboard. You'll like it. |
