Pilot Nutrition Survey needs some love
 

Long time APC contributor, Navigate Nutrition, is look for pilots to take a brief 3 minute survey on crewmember eating habits. Results will be published on APC later this summer.

New here...did the survery...seems topical...nothing about fitness? ...perhaps add an input line at the end for 50 words of comments to shed some more light on responders habits/diet. E.G. - "Defensive Eating": I'm not hungry now, but with weather closing in and a late arrival and places that might not be open or being stuck on the ramp for hours means I eat something now.

I expect the average pilot diet, like the choices at most airports, is fairly dismal. Add to that having to eat "on the go" or worse, in the cockpit...most unsavory. It takes disciplined hard work and constant food choice triage to try to maintain a healthy diet in this profession.

I also agree with having an ability to supply comment/ brief narrative.

Thanks for the input guys, I agree that the survey is collecting a narrow set of data although the questions that the Primary Investigator had are pretty specific. I think an expanded survey to include exercise and comments would be a nice addition.

The response to the survey has been good and we're almost at the point of achieving statistical significance. Stay tuned for the results and for more surveys in the future.
