Look at total compensation costs

What percentages do you show for pilot labor compared to fuel?

Don't know why they did not combine it and the 8 for a more headline friendly 12.5%
They don't want a riot from the non contract employees. This is simply a way to minimize the size of the pay raise to the non contracts. They are very aware that to run a good airline they need the non contracts employees happy. Hence the other changes announced the day after the TA.

Elvis, you missed my point. Everybody at DL makes more in compensation than everybody at DCI. Our overhead is huge. it's not just the pilots. Answer me this; do you think DL would fly those airplanes if they could make money on them ? My contention is that if DL thought they could make money flying a blimp they would do it.

Yea - great signing bonus - 4% x $122/hr = $4.88/hr x 72 hours/month (I didn't plan on working more for more money - I can do that under the current contract) = $351.36/month x 6 months = $2108.16 Signing bonus - minus 20% taxes = $1676.53 - not much of a bonus for everything we gave up (I don't like the new ALV/Reserve rules - I work too many days already - I don't want to be forced to work more).

And if they're not happy, they'll unionize!

How many days did you work this past year ? are you on reserve ? The company had issues with our current reserve system on the wide bodies, not being able to use the reserves due to the long trips. We gave them the ALV + 15 for the higher reserve pay(an example). Negotiations are a 2 way street, that's why it's called bargaining not demanding.

You know you make a lot of money with this contract if you fly 87.5 hours a month and compare the 2015 rates on the TA to 2012 rates today.

And that ALV+15 extends down to non international categories though.

And it goes to 80's earlier point, we negotiated to end trip parking and then signed off on ALV+15.

It's like negotiating language to prevent RAH types from gaming our scope clause and then turning around and giving them an exemption.
