Default US Airways horrible crew hotels

I've noticed that many of the worst hotels I stay at (working for a bankrupt regional airline), US Airways mainline also stays at. Cities like BDL, STL, ORD. We are talking Days Inn, Pear Tree Inn, Ramada, La Quinta, by the airport with no food choices. Many times, we are the only two airlines staying there, because most other regionals won't even put their crews there.

Does US Airways have any contractual hotel language? It seems odd and sad that mainline crews are staying at these kinds of hotels.

I'm not US Airways, but I know they have long and short layovers. I'm guessing their short ones are what you are referring to. Probably cheap and close to the airport.

I ran into a US Air crew at the Hacienda in LA once.
I was quite surprised to see them there.

Is anything being done by the pilot group to change this? If so, whats the status... good potential in the future or relegated to these types of hotels forever? Sure doesn't sound very nice.
