KCM for FAs
Over/under on number of days before an FA is busted taking her cat through KCM?

Good work, ALPA. Thanks for using my dues money to further the FAs' agenda.

Not once was ALPA mentioned helping FA's to be part of KCM in that article. However, there's about a hundred other things I can point out that ALPA wastes your money on.

Initially, the KCM system will be available for use by participating airline pilots only, but ALPA and Airlines for America (A4A) have requested that the TSA expand the program to include flight attendants in the future.

This is completely rediculous. FAs should definitely not be included in KCM. They're going to screw the whole program up for everyone.
The whole idea behind KCM is that we're already left alone in the cockpit, so why do we need to be screened to ensure we won't be able to enter the cockpit? FAs are not afforded this responsibility.
Also, from a security standpoint, I trust a pilot who has spent years getting to where they're at a lot more than a flight attendant who has spent 6 weeks doing so.

From the KCM website (http://www.knowncrewmember.org/Pages/Home.aspx):
I don't really see this as a big deal. Most FA's bypass security, just like pilots at the employee parking lot. I don't think that's a security threat.
As for this being the end of KCM, I doubt it. KCM has survived a JBLU captain's inflight breakdown and another pilots attempt to steal a CRJ before shooting himself in the head in the cockpit of the aircraft he was trying to steal.

He who pays the piper calls the tune. I believe A4A is bank rolling KCM.
