I would love to see them raise it to 67 maybe even 70 or so in about 5 or 10 years. First of all, Call me selfish but The industry has been to stagnet for too long. Second the FAA will have had a chance to show (to the flying public) how successful the 60 to 65 movement was and the value of keeping experienced pilots in the cockpit. Baby steps!!

Wouldn't an age 67 rule simply delay the "shortage" two years? I don't see how that would make a major difference other than delaying the careers of folks at regionals and such another two years...

So your answer to the stagnation is to stagnate it further? How old are you anyway, 60?

Baby steps my friend baby steps! I am under forty and in 5-10 years it won't matter everyone will be hiring. There is no replacement for experience my friend!

That doesn't make sense. The LAST thing we want is to raise the age. Yes, you are being selfish if you want it raised, but I can't really see how it will benefit you. For someone who is an FO at a smaller airline who professes to hoping to leave JBU for a legacy, 67 to 70 will keep you from being hired at a legacy for that many more years.

"Age 67" is a tool invented by 35 year-olds to try to induce coronary events in 45 year-olds.

Them and a handful of near-death 64 year-olds with no lives.

Just in case... three wrong answers, and I'll get a flight attendant to drag you out of my seat. And no Lawrence Welk trivia. All Beastie Boys and later.

You aren't seeing the trees thru the woods, you must be very young. It won't matter in 5 - 10 years. I am selfish because I don't want it changed now, it will cause stagnation if done in the near future. Once you have that legacy/major job you will want it as well. Not to mention there is going to be a major experience gap 10 years from now that will be when it will be more important to keep the experience in the cockpit.
