Jumpseating Delta/Pinnacle on Mil leave
 

Im currently on mil leave. My company pulled me from CASS while I'm out but I still have a valid id. Does anyone know if Delta and Pinnacle will let me ride in the back with just an ID or do I have to be an active employee?

I'd check your FOM for the specific MIL leave policy. What I found real quick was "NOTE:
Company Crewmembers or Authorized Corporate Employees do not
have to be authorized through the CASS and Deltamatic system.
Verification of valid Company ID and authorization from Table 9-2
meets requirements."

What I take from that is: if you're jumpseating on your own company, you do not need to be verified through CASS.

I'd let ya on my flight if you had a company ID.

Don't think it should be a problem, cass is for cockpit only, if your trying to non rev in the back I am sure it's fine, make sure you talk to the crew, they will make sure you get on.

Explain the cass thing to the gate agent tho, most of the time of tey hear no cass they think it's a no go, which it is not !!!!

Why does your company pull you from CASS during military leave? Your jumpseat committee should investigate why your company does that, most majors don't do that, even UCH stopped a few years ago. AA probably does, but they practice war on their employees.

Yeah most regionals don't do it either.. That's a bit ridiculous. I would investigate.

It depends on the length of your mil leave. If your on long term mil leave over 30 days your not a active employee which is a FAA requirement to jumpseat in the cockpit. Your supposed to be pulled from Cass. How often this is actually done I don't know however the rule is clear.

I think this is the reason they do it. I'm out for a few months so they pulled me. When i take short leave periods they leave me in. Thanks everyone for the info
