Your query might be better answered if you post this in the "Regional" section.

If you can avoid it, I highly recomend staying away from MESA, unless you enjoy being abused. Ask rick777, or one of those guys out there, they'll tell you.

The non slam answer to your question is this. You can pretty much walk in the door with an ATP and get captain on a 1900. Is it great , no. The problem with the real quick upgrade is that you will never be senior. Every time they run a class a group of FO's become senior to you and it is real hard to hold a line somewhere. On the other hand if you're will to put up with the reserve life for a year you can probably hold a 3rd position somewhere. The reserve bases are Kansas City, Pittsburgh and Farmington NM. KC being the junior reserve base. If you live in the NE and want to commute through Pitt this is a super hugh hassle. Commuting through most major cities is not quite as bad.

You get 8 hard days off in a 28 day bid. 10 min but usually 12-14 as a line holder, the problem most line holders have is you are out station based. Moving there blows because as EAS goes they re-award all of the time so you can get bumped out with out much warning. (2 months sometimes).

Pay little attention to the guys who don't actually work here as they usually just complain about things they hear about. ie: camping trips for which they know nothing about. Rickair777 has worked here. I am not sure what he flew. He may have better jet side info but he has since gone to Skywest, I believe.

The Airmidwest division is better off then the "The Dark Side" in my opinion but I have not worked there. You can ask for the beech and get it, or you can also hold out for the plane you want and most likely get it.

ERJ is about a 20-24 month upgrade, the CRJ is 3-4 years best I can tell looking at the list. At that rate you are on the bottom. If you came in as a Beech pilot you'll upgrade when you hit ATP mins. You are seat locked for 18 months, at which point you can go Jet Captain usually ERJ in IAD MCO or ATL.

Since they don't tell you the aircraft until training, do a lot of guys quit or do they just take what they get? How senior is the PHX base, can you get that out of training?
