Delta Jumpseat Question

I am looking to jumpseat on DAL from DTW-NRT and am with United and in CASS. Can I just go to the gate and ask for the jumpseat and as long as there is a seat in the back...get on? Anything else I have to do for international jumpseat on Delta, and is there a limit on how many jumpseat riders you can take.

Thanks

I think DTW-NRT is set up as a 4 pilot op. so both j/s will already be booked for the relief crew, not sure if you can j/s on that, even if there are seats open in the back. It makes no sese but I don't write the rules.

I'll ask the experts and get back to you.

If it were a 3 pilot op, I think you could 'j/s' but only in a seat in the back. I'll check the staffing on the flt. and see if it's 3 or 4.

I could be REALLY wrong, but I believe you can jumpseat as long as there's a seat somewhere in the cabin. Getting home might be a bit more difficult if the station doesn't understand what you're trying to do...
Again, I could be REALLY wrong about this, have never done it, but I work for a DCI carrier.

12/17 DL275 DTW-NRT:
15 open in first
-1 in the back

You would be #9 assuming everybody goes before you.

It's a 13:35 leg, 4 pilots.

I'm still waiting to hear back from our J/S guru on if an offline can J/S on it...

The 747 has 3 observers seats in the flight deck + the 2 pilot seats. An offline jumpseater is welcome but must ride in the cabin.

You should not have a problem jumpseating. Make sure you get to the gate early in DTW. In NRT, go to the service center desk inside the terminal WAY EARLY. Sometimes it takes awhile to process OAL jumspseat request.

You will need to go to the checkin counter to pay any customs fees and taxes. This is the norm for any airline on international flights so allow extra time.

That particular flight shows an extra Capt, a LCA giving a TOE.

Do they typically let one F/O go home, if there are 5 seats up there?
