AA voted rudest airline
Survey: Biggest airlines are the rudest airlines? | Airline Biz Blog
Airfarewatchdog.com polled travelers about which U.S. air carrier had the rudest employees, and employees of the largest airlines came up most often, led by American Airlines, United Airlines and Delta Air Lines.
Airline Rudest
American 25%
United 21%
Delta 18%
US Airways 12%
Spirit 10%
Southwest 6%
AirTran 4%
Allegiant 3%
Alaska 2%
Frontier 2%
JetBlue 2%
Virgin America 2%
Well, they carry more passengers than the other carriers, right? So let’s do an unscientific analysis of the unscientific poll.
We calculated the traffic market share of the airlines compared to all U.S. carriers that reported traffic in November and came up with a comparison of traffic share versus “rude” share. A positive difference means the airline has a greater traffic share than the percent of respondents who called that airline’s employees rude.
Traffic Traffic “Rude” Difference
Southwest 14% 6% 8
Delta 21% 18% 3
JetBlue 4% 2% 2
Alaska 3% 2% 1
United 22% 21% 1
Frontier 1% 2% -1
Allegiant 1% 3% -2
US Airways 8% 12% -4
Spirit 1% 10% -9
American 16% 25% -9
The traffic, by the way, is in revenue passenger miles, which is different from passengers. We couldn’t come up with reliable data for the actual number of passengers that were consistent across all airlines.

They certainly have some of the rudest customer service agents I've ever interacted with. Especially in St. Louis. Once past that obstacle course however, I've always found them to be very nice hosts.

Oh yeah, my favorite AA story in STL was when I walked up to the gate to sign up for the jumpseat and the agent replied with "YOU'RE NOT GETTING ON THE PLANE, GO AWAY"

Likewise - I used to commute on them all the time, and now use them solely for business travel. Never had an issue with them and always felt well treated, especially compared with Continental/United.

If you want my opinion---DCA tops my list, followed by BWI. (for totally different reasons). Conversely, PIT was always a favorite----salt of the earth passengers who don't let too much bother them.

HPN. Hands down. Every one of them thinks they're the main character from the West Wing show and have to coordinate VIP movement which is why they can never shut off their cell phone..LGA a close second.
