Clarity Aloft vs Telex 850
I am currently a regional pilot in the CRJ 700. Can anybody give me their opinion on the Clarity Aloft vs Telex 850 headsets? I am currently replacing my 12 year old David Clark set and am deciding on which to get. I like both, but am trying to figure out which is preferred by pilots in Boeing/Airbus aircraft as I am hoping to move on sooner than later.
Any opinion on the two would be much appreciated!

I just purchased the Clarity Aloft Pro. The headset is very light, and feels very comfortable as it goes around the back of your head. No batteries required & the headset comes with a hard carrying case & 24 sets of ear plugs. A pair lasts at least 30 days. You can also make your own out of free ear plugs.
The only downside is that for a FO the boom is on the left side and cannot be changed. So you have to clip the cord to your shirt let it drape across you.

I've worn DCs, Telex 750, Bose, & now the Clarity Aloft Pro. Clarity Aloft Pro is the best by far.

I used to wear DCs, but bought an Aloft 5 years ago and won't wear anything else. I wouldn't wear the $1000 Bose headset if you gave it to me. I don't have a problem with the cord going across my body. When I unbuckle the shoulder straps, I usually clip it to the shirt pocket flap on my left side.

All the times I've jumpseated on the Bus, I've found it very quiet. I've heard some people like the 850s. I've heard most just use the 750s in the airplane. I ordered a molded earpiece and the Plantronics MS-50. One thing to double check is the plugs on your company's Airbus. Some have the standard 2 plug and others (like all of US's) have the weird 5-pin plug. I had to get an adapter, too.
