Kudos to JetBlue's Pilot Voting Committee!

Our processes, agreed upon by our leadership, are worthless. They do what they want, when they want. How about all the trips that get broken and/or given to reserves before they ever make it to the opentime pot. That is not how it is supposed to happen according to the FSM.
Our leadership does not play by their own rules. The union vote cannot come fast enough.

You need not look any further than the 10K reports if you want to see how well jetblue is doing. If you can't read it or don't understand it ask someone who can. The health of this company is staggering.
Not only did jetblue pay off all those airframes it also paid for T5i. Added $29 million for capx in FLL and paid down an additional $200 mil in debt. Whats not included is the additional 80 mil saved from health care. Revenue is up, employee cost is down comparatively.
Jetblue is doing exceptionally well. So much so executives continue to reap the rewards in the form of RSU's and grants. This is aside from annual bonuses and raises which weren't supposed to happen for 2012.

Anyone who read the ford and Harrison white paper knows Jetblues intent is to simply provide you a perceived voice, not actual changes.

Perhaps JB management doesn't really care about all this ?
I understand captains make good bucks with a lot of OT, extra pay etc. It may be they think there will be plenty of junior regional pilots willing to move up to a better carrier than their crappy regional at least for a few years. If so, they recoup training costs and have cheap F/O's. Even if ALPA or another union was voted onto the property, it could take 5 years to get to the point of your first contract and by then M & A may make it moot.
It seems at least at this point, JB has regional pilots falling over themselves for a slot in a new-hire class to make up for any attrition.

A buddy on the pins com gave me a little insight as to the type of applicant currently being called for interviews. They feel they are not getting the caliber of applicant they would like and mostly blame management. You can't trick people in to coming here anymore. There is no quick upgrade carrot. There are no protections and we are going backwards in most categories. Keep in mind these are hard core pro-company guys. The very thought of unionizing sickens them but they see the reality before them. They are certainly frustrated.

Among my group of applicants almost all were regional Captains, with a few cargo guys there as well.
I saw 3 others pilots from my current airline at the interview and I was the most junior of them with 7000TT and 3000TPIC.
I wouldn't say either that I'm falling over myself to work there. I want to be there, it would improve my and my family's QOL. Hopefully things work out, if not I know I'm competitive to be hired at another carrier going forward. Right now though I'm focused on getting on there and enjoying that ride.

This could be the case however my personal interview experience showed otherwise (having interviewed within the last 2 months).
